Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals.  Sterling silver jewels will carry a S925 marking to indicate its authenticity.

Caring for your jewellery

To keep your piece looking its best please remove before bathing, showering or swimming and avoid contact with chemicals including perfume, hairsprays, household cleaning products etc. as these may cause discolouration.  The inherent nature of metal causes sterling silver to develop a natural patina over time from exposure to oxygen and moisture from the skin.  You can restore the lustre on the surface of your pieces by gently cleaning with a silver cleaning cloth.
